Putting Love into Action During the Pandemic

Opportunities to put your Love in Action at this time.
As the pandemic continues, many families are struggling to make ends meet. If you wish to support their needs, here are some recommendations:
a. God’s Loving Arms Fund. All during the Pandemic, St. Vincent de Paul has been providing services to those in need. Their store, which provides much of the helping funds, was closed and only recently reopened. All funds given out by St. Vincent de Paul are from donations, they do not receive any government funding. If you would like to support people in the Baraboo area, mark your donation to God’s Loving Arms.
b. Helping Hands Fund. Our Church Family sometimes needs monetary support for needs that arise. Besides support and guidance, Pastor Marianne will provide assistance through the Helping Hands Fund to members and friends of First United Methodist Church as emergencies arise. If you would like to support our Church family, mark your donation to Helping Hands Fund.
c. Our Neighborly Free Store, even though closed during the pandemic, has held a couple free clothing giveaways in the Church Parking Lot. These events are open to all – check our Facebook page for information on when the next one will be held. They would also appreciate help during the day. For the event, masks are required as well as social distancing, and no children under 16 will be allowed for safety reasons. More information will be posted on the Church door as well as on our Facebook page. Monetary donations are always accepted and appreciated – mark your donation Neighborly Free Store.
d. Anyone who rents and had their income affected by Covid 19 may apply for the Wisconsin Rental Assistance Program (WRAP). If you know someone in need of rental assistance, please have them contact Central Wisconsin Community Action Council, Inc. (CWCAC) at 608-254-8353. To be eligible, clients have had their income reduced due to Covid 19, are not receiving Section 8 or other income based housing, and are behind on rent. If you know someone in this situation who lives in Adams, Columbia, Dodge, Juneau or Sauk Counties, please have them contact CWCAC.
Thank you for putting your love in action.
