Even though she has retired as our UMW president, Alice Schellenberger has graciously agreed to continue her leadership of the pasty sales. She’ll supervise the baking operations while I will continue in my role of processing and packaging the orders. We always welcome help. There are a variety of jobs both sitting and standing. Come when you can and stay as long as you like. We’re usually done baking by noon. It’s nice to have a few people come at 9:30 or 10:00 to relieve some of the earlier workers.  Some of us stay until 3:00 waiting for the orders to be picked up. Contact Janet at 356-7636 or bricemanor@gmail.com or Alice at 356-2387 or 79alicejms93@gmail.com if you’d like to join us. If possible, please do let us know if you’re coming so we can plan accordingly.

All women of the church are welcome to join us for the Winter Brunch. It’s a lovely time of food and fellowship. We’ll have the World Thank Offering program and collection, hear about our activities, and maybe work on some projects.

The prayer shawl group under the leadership of Carol Quinn is off to a great start. We’re enjoying knitting, crocheting, and visiting.  We plan to meet two times a month on one Wednesday afternoon and one Sunday after church. Carol Olson completed a shawl and we blessed it as a group and passed it on to Pastor Marianne to share with someone in need of prayer and encouragement.

About UMW…

Pasty Sales

We have pasty sales three times a year to raise money for our district pledge for global mission as well as a variety of other local, national and international missing giving (usually September, March/April, and January). We always welcome help in preparing and baking them. There are a variety of jobs and you can come when you’re able and stay as long as you like.

New Circle

New Circle meets the 3rd Wednesday at 4pm in the conference room. Our main focus is study. We completed “Jesus and Courageous Women” and most of the study on Ruth from the “Uppity Women of the Bible” series.

Special Events & Programs

  • We have brunches and luncheons featuring programs with speakers or mission projects with our own unit and sometimes with guests from other units.
  • We  visit other units for their special programs.
  • We participate in district and state events.
  • There’s a one-week School of Christian Mission at Steven’s Point in July. You can go on Monday only for Drive-In Day for an overview of the studies or you can go for the entire week.
  • We are working to implement outreach to our in-home members.
  • We would like to have some gatherings for knitting/crocheting and for making green cleaning supplies.
