We always welcome help on pasty day. There are a variety of jobs both standing and sitting. We start baking at 8:00 and that part is usually done by noon. A few of us stay until 3:00 to wait on customers. Come when you can and stay as long as you’d like. It would be nice if a few people came at 9:30 or 10:00 to give the early crew a break.
Our past president, Alice Schellenberger, is continuing her leadership of the pasty bakes for the time being but would like to start transitioning out of that role or at least have some back up if she’s not able to be there. If you are interested in learning the ropes of the baking and/or shopping, contact Alice at 356-2387 or firstname.lastname@example.org. For this sale, we are designating $1.00/pasty sold to Midwest Distribution Center. Several members of our congregation recently went there on a mission trip. They provide emergency items for victims or disasters and we thought that would be appropriate to donate to them due to the recent tornadoes and floods.
THANKS TO ALL WHO HELPED TO MAKE OUR CELEBRATION OF THE 150TH ANNIVERSARY OF UMW SO SPECIAL! Carol Quinn, Alice Schellenberger, Rajean Bender, Sandra Jackson, Kathy Shrake, Rosemary Herndon, Victoria Sanchez, Joan Litscher, Donna Taapken, Gayla Holzem, Charlene Flygt and the Woman’s Chorus, Mike Hanson, Mike Pullen, Pastor Marianne, Aimee Lutz, Keri Olson, Bruce Rasmussen. I apologize if I overlooked anyone. Your efforts are very much appreciated.
We have pasty sales three times a year to raise money for our district pledge for global mission as well as a variety of other local, national and international missing giving (usually September, March/April, and January). We always welcome help in preparing and baking them. There are a variety of jobs and you can come when you’re able and stay as long as you like.
New Circle meets the 3rd Wednesday at 4pm in the conference room. Our main focus is study. We completed “Jesus and Courageous Women” and most of the study on Ruth from the “Uppity Women of the Bible” series.
