March 29th – Palm Sunday Concert
The choirs of Baraboo’s First United Methodist Church and St. Paul’s Lutheran Church will present a one-hour concert, “Testimony of Life,” at First United Methodist Church. “Testimony of Life” by Joseph M. Martin tells the story of the life, ministry, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ through choral anthems, scripture readings and congregational songs. The concert is free of charge. Please bring a nonperishable food item, paper product or health and beauty aid for the Baraboo Food Pantry. A free will offering will also be taken at the concert to support the churches’ music ministries.
April 2nd – UMW Communion Brunch
United Methodist Women in Portage are hosting their Communion Brunch on Thursday, April 2 at 9:30am. The speaker is Pastor Ronnie Verboom and the topic is My Faith Journey. RSVP to Portage United Methodist Church at 608-742-2107 by Monday March 30. The church is located at 1804 New Pinery Road.
April 11th – Neighborly Spring Cleaning Party
On Saturday, April 11th at 9:00am, there will be a Spring Cleaning Party for the Neighborly Clothing Store. This is a chance to sort through the clothing, pack away winter items and put out the spring clothing. This is being sponsored by the members of the adult Confirmation class. All are welcome to come and help. Mary Ellen Murray will be providing snacks. If you are able to join us, please sign up on the sheet provided in on the table in Fellowship Hall. Thank you for serving in this way!
April 15th – Meals for the Homeless Meeting
The Adult Confirmation Class will be meeting on April 15th at 6pm to explore the possibility of serving meals to the homeless on Wednesday nights – either just in the summer or expanding on SPIRIT nights.
April 18th – Lyons Lectures by Dr. Hal Taussig

April 19th – Calling All Bicyclists!
Would you enjoy the chance to do some bike riding with others from First United Methodist Church? If you’re curious and would like to know more, come to an organizational meeting of a new bike riding group after church on Sunday, April 19th. The convener is Harry Peck. Join Harry and Pastor Marianne for conversation after worship that day as we make some plans for some bike trips this spring/summer!
The Worship Committee taking orders for hydrangea plants, which will be used to decorate the sanctuary for Easter. You may purchase the plants as a gift or designate the plant in honor or memory of a loved one. Plants can be picked up after the Easter Sunday Service. Please fill out the pink insert and place in the offering plate with payment by March 29th. (You may also mail the form and payment to church).
Easter Potluck Signup
In the Fellowship Hall, there is a sign up for the Easter Potluck, which starts at 9:00am on Easter morning. There are a variety of options to sign up for. Join us for this delicious breakfast!
